Founded in 1871, St. Philip’s came to Hearne with the railroads, and we’ve been worshiping continually in this spot ever since. Our current building, a Gothic Revival structure completed in 1912, is a registered Texas historic landmark. Long a mainstay in the downtown area, St. Philip’s is committed to serving our neighborhood and the larger community. We want Hearne and Robertson County to be healthier, happier places because our church is here. To that end, we sponsor a number of community-wide initiatives, including the Texas Rural Leadership Development Program, a community garden, and a neighbor-to-neighbor food pantry. Most recently, we’ve become the hub of the Brazos Valley Foodbank’s weekend backpack program. We believe Hearne has a bright future, and we strive to contribute to its flourishing by living out our Christian values of love, service, justice, hope, and reconciliation.
